I'm taking the opportunity to post while Olivia is taking her nap. She has been clinging to me like a limpet since we left the orphanage, so it has been quite overwhelming. But she is slowly opening up. The first day she hardly moved, but just quietly accepted whatever we did. Except if I tried to put her down e.g. to change her nappie. Her eyes filled with tears and she looked so scared.
The second day she started looking at me from time to time, and she was not at all apathic like the first day. Still very unsecure, and constantly on my lap or sitting up against me on the floor. She panicked when we left the appartment to go to the pool, but as long as she was on my hip and gripping tightly around my neck we got away with it and she eventually relaxed while we played with the water. I'm hoping to get her IN the pool eventually, so this is me warming her up for what is to come :-)
It is wonderful to feel her gradually relaxing more day by day, and today she accepted to walk next to me holding my hand. She still seems scared of Aaron, but accepts gentle strokes from him when she is sitting on my lap. With me constantly occupied with Olivia on my lap, we are joking that she and I are the queen and princess, and Aaron is the servant :-) He is very patient and doing a great job!
On a final note, we are surprisingly well rested! Altough she gets upset at bed-time, the first two nights have gone well. She falls asleep within 10 minutes on my chest and not long after, I can slide her on to the bed. Then she sleeps for 12-13 hours (!!!), only needing occasional back strokes or another half hour on the chest. Afternoon naps have been 2-3 hours, and only taking 30 seconds to put her down with no tears. We are thoroughly enjoying that so far we are all sleeping well and just enjoying to chill out in the slowest of slow-motion modes during the day :-)
Kære alle 3

Og skønt, at hun sover så meget, men sikke også alle de nye indtryk, lyde og lugte hun skal opleve og opdage... Det vil slå enhver ud :-)
