Another good day

It should be said days have their ups and downs and although we have a heap of happy photos posted here, our days are also filled with quiet moments, some upset moments and moments where our little Miss Meyer Saunders is not exactly sure what is going on. You mostly get the moments where Olivia is "up" but I try also to show some of the quiet times - and even unsure times - too.

The daily pool trip always starts quietly but is definitely a daily energy highpoint.

Olivia even let Dad get in on the playing today. She gets pretty excited when we start these games and - unlike with my nephews :-) - here I have a responsibility not to let her go too crazy... but at least I am in contact with her which is great.

Like her Mum, Olivia seems to love the water. Here she has just sprayed Rikke with some water...

We made a trip to the beach and here - out of her comfort zone - we she a quieter and more concerned girl. There were lots of kids playing and people around. There was no clowning and she was planted firmly on Rikke's lap. There were even tears when they went down to the water's edge and so we headed back to safety in the unit.

Olivia has been fascinated by our phones (and everything else that goes beep) so I bought her a toy phone - her first noisy, non-educational toy. In general, the grumpy, old man in me hates these stupid contraptions and I have never understood parents that invite that kind of noise into homes... but there I stood in line at the check-out with all the other Dads doing what they said they would never do... She love it of course, especially because we did not "give" it to her but just left it lying around like our "other" phones...
