A walk with Dad

Mum and Olivia are getting more adventurous in the pool each day. Again there was another little boy and his Mum at the pool and he was jumping in to his Mum's arms. Olivia watched interested for a long time then wanted to try it...

We also thought we would test the aquatic ape hypothesis for ourselves and have a bit of fun at the same time.

We had a good long swim!
It has been a bit quieter today, because we purposely tried not to get her worked too up and I especially have tried to be really gentle with her. The past couple of days she has been interested in me but we have only had contact as tickling and playing. So today I was determined to get closer...

The past couple of days Rikke has taken a walk around after we were finished in the pool, and today I just said, "Do you want to have a walk", took her hand... and off we went.

After a few laps of the pool we then horsed around a bit together under the tap with Mum watching from a distance... We had really good fun together, even though she still does not like me touching her.

Later, Rikke even went into the bedroom for a few minutes while we played together with the blocks in the lounge. The first time Rikke has been out of her sight (ie. the first time Rikke has had a minute alone...) since our first meeting exactly a week ago.

We also decided that we should be a bit more active in the afternoon because the last couple of days Liv has gone a bit crazy in the afternoon, laughing throwing stuff around.

We guessed that this might just mean that she was probably just bored. So this afternoon we made our first proper family outing: down to the markets

After the markets Rikke and Olivia found a cheesecake shop and Liv had her first taste of white chocolate (loved it). The temperature was well into the mid-30s so we were glad to sit down. But that didn't last long as once Liv had had a good look around and got comfortable that there were no dogs, she wanted to hop down and look around. Taking short trips and then back to Mum.

We take this as a good sign that she is starting to feel safe enough with us that she can use that as a base for adventure. The circle of security... thanks Grandma!

Then we went home and got stuck in to eating the stuff we got on our tour. Olivia got into the carrot but the she was kind enough to let us eat all of the pumpkin.
The phone has been a big hit and I am not even annoyed with it being played 1 million times per day... not yet anyway.
